ACS Walk in honor of Marcy Nowak

Join the Mid-Am Marauders team Saturday, November 5, 9:00 am for the 44th annual Road America walk/run for the American Cancer Society. This is the 15th time for the team to participate in the event on the beautiful, historic road course near Elkhart Lake, WI.

This year the team is walking in honor of Marcy Nowak who is valiantly battling this disease. Lyle and Marcy Nowak spent many years racing Mid-Am winning feature events at many venues, garnering the 2010 series championship and was chosen Mid-Am ‘Sportsman of the Year’ by his peers in 2009. See more Mid-Am history below.

You may join the team as a participant or make a donation to the American Cancer Society using this link. https://runsignup.com/Race/WI/Plymouth/RoadAmericaWalkRun

If you choose to donate through the team, search Mid-American Marauders under the Team Fundraising tab.

If you have any questions or need further information contact Doug Strasburg or Julie Strasburg.

In 2007 Mid-American secured a race in conjunction with the American Cancer Society’s “Walk/Run” event. This inspired Julie Strasburg (Mid-American co-owner ‘06-‘14) to form the ‘Mid-American Marauders’ Cancer Walk/Run team. The team gathers annually at the beautiful Road America 4 mile road racing course near Elkhart Lake, WI to join the thousands of participants and teams who walk/run the course to raise money for the ACS. Although there is no wheeled racing during the walk/run, some choose to use transponders to time their run while others push their young ones in their strollers (I suppose that could be considered wheeled racing). While the Marauders still bring in the funds, Julie has been walk/running the course alone. Come join her! But even if you can’t, remember, 100% of funds raised by the Mid-Am Marauders goes to the ACS.
